David Colgrave

A graduate of Edinburgh University David trained in Accountancy with Ernst & Young before switching careers into recruitment.

His first role was with Michael Page in Leeds in 1991. In 1993 David joined Hitchenor Maher as their first consultant and progressed to become MD of their UK operations. Following the merger with Executive Connections in 2003 the business was renamed ECHM and subsequently acquired by Imprint Plc in early 2005. David's sixteen years of experience in the northern recruitment market and in-depth knowledge of the business enabled him to successfully negotiate a buyout of the Leeds, Manchester and Midland's operations from Imprint in December 2007.

My Passion

I had my first motorbike at 16, a Suzuki GT 50, it only made 30mph but it was drop dead gorgeous and I was hooked!

Since then I have always had a bike, usually Japanese until I discovered the joys of Italian V twins!! The Ducati 916 is still the Icon, it reinvented the superbike and is still the best looking motorcycle ever built despite being almost 15 years old now. I gave my last one to our Finance Manager as a bonus for his efforts during the MBO, so I am now riding mostly off-road; trying to teach my son the basics of motorcycling!

However, I do have my eyes on a 1098R must start saving...
